What Is Cataract?
It is a condition where the lens in the eyeball develops an opacity (becomes cloudy).
What Causes Cataract?
Cataract can be caused by a number of factors including:
- Aging ie. As you grow, you may develop cataract at a point
- An injury to the eye
- Abuse of certain drugs
- Use of traditional eye medicines
- Babies can be born with cataract.
- What Are The Symptoms of Cataract?
A person who has cataract will experience symptoms like these:
- Cloudy vision
- Poor vision at night
- Glare in bright light
- Seeing double or multiple images in one eye
- Haloes (rainbow colours) around light
- Colours appear faded
- Light from cars appear too bright
- Who Can Develop Cataract?
Everyone can have Cataract. Some children are born with Cataract. Cataract mostly develops as a person grows that is why cataract is more common in people who are 50 years old and above.
Can Cataract Make Me Blind?
Yes. If the cataract is not treated early, it can make a person blind.
Can I See Again If I Become Blind from Cataract?
Yes. You can see again after treatment provided there are no other problems in the eye.
How Is Cataract Treated?
It is treated on by surgery. Cataract surgery is very safe. It does not take long to complete the surgery.

DO NOT allow your cataract surgery to be done by anyone at home.
DO NOT try to treat your cataract with HERBS or any OTHER MEDICINE.
Such an action can make the condition worse. Use only medicines that have been treated by a doctor for you.
